Platinum prints are made by the process of contact printing a negative of the size required for the final print, i.e. an 8"X10" platinum print will require an 8"X10" negative.However, these negatives can also be enlarged to produce exceptional ultra-large B&W prints .
The artist has had constructed a cold light enlarger capable of enlarging any negative up to 12"X20" in size.
The advantages of such a print are an astonishing degree of clarity and freedom from grain as well as a perceptible perception of depth.
At present the artist does not produce B&W prints larger than the width of the roll available for the particular paper used,generally not exceeding 40" in width .Typical print lengths vary from 50" to 72".
The artist prints on Polymax Fine Art, Agfa MultiContrast Classic, Ilford MGIVFB, and Forte PGV4.
In general it takes about one week to produce the larger prints, and three to five days for the smaller prints.
These prints are very much in demand for wall art, for corporate showcases such as boardrooms and offices.Each image is produced in an edition size of three, seven or twenty one depending on the dimensions of the print.
All prints are toned in either gold or selenium.
